Previously offered through CU-CAL (Clemson University Cell Analysis Laboratory), CUGI now offers high-speed cellular analysis and sorting services using BD FACScan and Cytopeia Influx instruments.
Characterisitcs of the Cytopeia Influx
- 50,000 events/second
- Up to 32 parameters with 4-decade dynamic range
- Rare event detection
- Sterile workplace
- Adaptable for immunology, oceanography and cell cycle analysis
- Small particle detector for bacterial studies
- Flo Jo Software for analysis
Helpful Hints
- The following controls are needed for all experiments.
- Unstained cells to measure autofluorescence
- Isotype controls for all antibodies
- Single-color tubes for all fluorochromes used in multicolor combinations
- Other controls as specified by core staff
- Cells should be analyzed the same day as they are stained unless they are fixed (e.g. in 1% formaldehyde). Cells should be in medium (unfixed) for viable sorting
- Stained cell should be kept on ice until analyzed or sorted
