Sequencing QA/Trimming

An in-house pipeline has been constructed at CUGI for the Quality Analysis (QA) and Trimming of Sanger-style genomic and transcriptomic data.

This pipeline incorporates open-source tools such as phred, cross_match, and JCVI's lucy into a single package for cleaning and trimming of sequence data. CUGI staff have experience cleaning and manually reviewing sequence data and can provide either text and Excel-based reports or an online interface for reviewing sequence QA results. The output of all of these services may be made available to the customer via our secure FTP site. Submission of high-quality sequences (sequences with at least 100 high quality bases with a phred score > 20) to Genbank can be provided.

As an extension to this service, CUGI can provide in-silico functional annotation of ESTs and construction of an online database to enhance and simplify manual curation by the researcher before further experimentation.

All bioinformatic services are charged at an hourly rate, and rates are constructed to recover costs for equipment, service contracts and labor, and do not reflect labor alone. Please contact CUGI for an exact quote for a project.
