Rainbow Trout Physical Map - 3rd Generation

Dr. Yniv Palti, a research geneticist at the USDA ARS National Center for Cool and Cold Water Aquaculture in Leetown, WV and Dr. Ming-Cheng Luo from the University of California, Davis, produced the third version of the physical map of the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) genome. The physical map is integrated with the genetic map through microsatellite markers that were isolated from the physical map BACs. The integrated genetic and physical map was produced in collaboration with Dr. Carine Genet at INRA, France. The genomic resources in this economically important aquaculture species will ultimately help realize genetically improved strains of fish. CUGI is hosting the physical map.
