The DNA Sequencing group delivers high-throughput DNA sequencing of any source of DNA. Sequencing methodologies include: BAC end sequencing, EST (cDNA) sequencing, shotgun sequencing. The center also performs sequence assembly, gap closure, and finishing.

We have a wide array of automated state-of-the-art laboratory equipment including small and large scale DNA platforms for various needs. DNA sequencing can be performed from samples provided as bacterial culture, purified and or pre-reacted DNA. Our highly experienced personnel available for any size job.

Sequencing services are available for purchase and can be ordered online for small to medium size jobs. For large-scale sequencing projects please contact CUGI directly.

CUGI Sequencing Center offers High and low copy plasmid or purified PCR products sequencing service. Samples can be submitted as bacterial cultures in either 96-well format or single tubes and CUGI will isolate the plasmid and sequence in either one or both directions and guarantees at least 85% success. Purified plasmid or PCR products up to sequencing standards can also be submitted for reaction and sequencing. Leftover purified DNA can be delivered to the customer for additional charges. CUGI Sequencing Center also offers sequence assembly, gap closure and finishing. Sequence assembly and editing is performed using Phred-Phrap programs (Ewing et al. 1998) and consed. The process of finishing ensures at least each base in the assembly has a quality score greater than phred 30 and there is less than one error per 10,000bp.



Quality Guarantee

For samples submitted in bacterial culture form we guarantee at least 85% success rate for sequencing.

Shipping & Delivery Costs

Sequencing and finishing results are delivered to the customer free of charge using CUGI's online FTP server. However, if the customer prefers the data be shipped by way of CD, DVD or USB Hard drive, the cost of the media and any applicable shipping costs are added to the final invoice.
